Tawny George MA, LPC, EMDR

Like so many others,

it was my own experience with mental health that inevitably led me to want to work in the counseling field. As I lived out my own mental health journey, I found I was drawn to understand both the psychological and physiological sides to the conflicts we face.

I've always empathically related to others and sincerely long to know their experiences, stories, and struggles and to see them succeed. My hope is that I can come alongside my clients and walk with them as they unburden themselves from unnecessary baggage and move closer to living the lives they imagine.

When difficulties arise in life,

it can be hard to navigate without support. Whether you are dealing with stress, life transitions, past trauma, or improving your mental health, choosing to start therapy can be a great step towards finding your way. It is my hope that in our sessions we can establish a therapeutic relationship founded on trust, acceptance, and respect. Once this has been established, clients can safely explore life experiences, beliefs, and fears that contribute to negative emotions and sensations that interfere with day-to-day functioning and life satisfaction.

More About Me,

I grew up in Miami, Florida and obtained my counseling degree from Trevecca University In Nashville TN in 2010. I moved to Colorado in 2013 to be closer to the amazing natural resources we have here. I love hiking, camping, watercolor painting, paddle boarding, and spending time with my partner, our two daughters, and our two rescue dogs. I enjoy working with clients exploring their spirituality. I enjoy the Enneagram and learning about personality types and our different strengths and weaknesses. I’m a big book worm and spend most of my free time equally between therapy textbooks and fiction novels.

I specialize in working with children, teens and adults who experience depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, complex trauma and PTSD, childhood sexual abuse, bullying, and neglect, religious trauma and spiritual transitions, LGBTQIA+, and PNES (psychogenic nonepileptic seizures). I use:
