Online therapy can guide you toward calm, acceptance, and meaning in this confusing time.

You may feel too stressed and distracted, and even the thought of making an appointment and being present for online therapy can be overwhelming. But why not find support to help you manage your fears, learn new skills to cope, and find a sense of well-being?

Together, we can work through this. Online therapy is easy and secure. It is similar to in-person therapy and just as effective.

Types of Treatment Done Online:

Depending on your needs and goals, I may draw from a variety of scientifically validated treatment approaches. These include mindfulness stress reduction, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), EMDR, and somatic therapy.

You might be wary about receiving therapy online.

Does online therapy work? Is it effective?

I have found online therapy to be very meaningful. Sometimes people find it more helpful than in-person therapy. This is because you can be in control of your own environment. You can have things around you that help you feel calm. And you never have to get into your car. All therapy treatments described above can be available and successful using online therapy.

Is online therapy confidential? How does it work?

The most important thing is to have privacy. Ensure that you are in a private space where it is unlikely that others will hear you or interrupt you. You may need to ask others in your space to respect your privacy by turning on entertainment in another room or listening to something on headphones. In addition, you will want to put a box of tissues next to where you will be. If you want, pour yourself a glass of water or tea. You will want to turn off any notifications as best you can, as well as turn off smartphones.

Is online therapy worth the investment?

Most people would agree that online therapy is helpful in times of stress and the unknown. Why not address the feelings you have now rather than dealing with them in the aftermath? Once this crisis is over, don't you want to continue with your life, having gained essential skills and the freedom to move forward?

What else do I need to know about online therapy?

After a couple sessions, many of my clients find they’ve gained the awareness and skills needed to start doing things regardless of the chaos and unknowns. This is true; whether you attend in person or by video, it’s well worth exploring a free consultation.
